Mathematics Department Help Centre
The Mathematics Department runs a virtual help centre during the summer offering synchronous and asynchronous support for all undergraduate math courses.
The online help centre is staffed by graduate students from the Department of Mathematics. The help centre is planned to open on Wednesday May 20th and will run until the end of the summer exam period.
Synchronous Virtual Hours MS Teams (see link below):
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 4pm to 6pm
Tuesday and Thursday 1pm to 3pm.
During the above times, students visiting the help centre online will be able to receive live help. Questions posted outside of the above times will be answered the next day that the help centre is open.
Joining the Virtual Help Centre
It is recommended that you install Microsoft Teams on your computer. The browser based approach further below has limitations, (as does mobile).
After installing Microsoft Teams on your computer and logon to your Western Office 365 account. After you have done that return to this tab and click on the link below:
Clicking this link should enroll you in a Microsoft Team, if it doesn't try restarting Teams and clicking the link again. Clicking on the "Teams" tab in Microsoft Teams should produce a lovely rainbow coloured circle with the heading "Mathematics Department Virtual Help Centre".
Clicking on that rainbow coloured circle will bring you to the Mathematics Department Virtual Help centre. For information on how to use it click on the "General" tab and then click on "How to use the..." at the top of the page.
An alternative method (browser based)
Log on to your Western email, i.e. Office 365. From the office home page search for the Microsoft Teams page.
You can join the team (see top right browser window) with the code: arl8xza

As a service to those students seeking private tutors for university mathematics courses, the Department of Mathematics is displaying the following list of persons who have expressed an interest in private tutoring. The Department of Mathematics is posting this list without commenting on the qualifications or on the quality of tutoring by those persons named on this list, nor with fees that may be charged.
