I am learning some bits (or should I say Bytes) of digital photography using my Canon S40. The best reason to switch to digital is the freedom of making as many shots as you want to without wasting expensive film. Here are some of the photographs:

Bashkortostan (Bashkiria) is a republic within Russian Federation, capital - Ufa. It was the first autonomous republic in Soviet Russia. The history of Bashkirs goes to 500 A.D. and even earlier. The epic poem "Ural Batyr" is considered one of the oldest in the world.
