Course Description:
A rigorous self-contained introduction to Complex Analysis in several variables. Topics include basic properties of holomorphic functions, Hartogs theorems, theory of complex analytic sets, automorphisms of domains, pseudoconvexity and domains of holomorphy. We will also explore connections between Several Complex Variables with other areas of mathematics, such as Lie Groups, Algebraic Geometry and Topology, Harmonic Analysis. Prerequisites: A one-semester course in Complex Analysis in one variable, or permission of the instructor.
Homework: Homework will be assigned biweekly.
Presentation: Every graduate student will give a 20 minute in-class presentation on a topic arranged with the instructor.
Evaluation: Biweekly homework = 70%, In-class presentation = 30%.
