  • Sept.1: Welcome to the Calculus 1000A course website. Hope it works well; if not, please report bugs here.
This website will be frequently updated (once the classes start on Sept. 5). Remember to use the refresh/reload button.
Use the menu on the left to review the course outline and the list of suggested exercises.

  • Important info regarding the course textbook: The textbook for this course is Single Variable Calculus: Early Transcendentals (8th edition), by James Stewart (publ. Cengage/Brooks Cole).
No other materials will be required for the course. In particular, the course will make no use of the so-called WebAssign, a product offered by the bookstore in bundles with the text.
There are several options to purchase the textbook (used or new). Students are advised to choose the option that best suites their needs (for example, lowest price), keeping in mind that previous editions of the text are not compatible with the course (i.e., make sure to purchase Edition 8). Incidentally, Western Bookstore is currently (as of June 28, 2019) offering a bundled version of the text at a discounted price. Purchasing this version means acquiring some extra materials that will not be required for the course, but has no disadvantages to the student otherwise.
