Teaching Math at Western: Instructor Resources (Out of date)
Mathematics is a way of thinking abstractly. It is the process that took our society from "one, two, many" to the sophisticated number system that we all learn as children. The process has continued far past number systems and continues still. A mathematician contributes to this evolution by investigating abstract concepts, discovering their interrelationships, appreciating their beauty and usefulness, and communicating them to others in society.
