Program changes 2026/27
It is likely that there will be major revisions to the applied and pure mathematics program starting in Fall 2026. The revisions were submitted in October 2025 and are still making their way through the university approval process. We may have a definitive answer by April 30th 2026. Here is a broad overview of the proposed changes.
Course Changes
- Calculus 2502/2503/2302/2303 will be replaced by a single 0.5 credit course Math 2500.
- Math 2122 (Real Analysis) will be renumbered to Math 3022.
- There will be some revisions to the content of Math 2155/56, Math 3020, Applied Math 3811.
- Math 3124 (Complex Analysis I) will be renumbered to Math 4024.
- Applied Math 3156 will be replaced by Applied Math 4215 (Mathematical Biology).
- Applied Math 2814 will be revised and renamed Mathematical Computation.
- Applied Math 3817 (Math Modelling) will be introduced.
We have also modernised our modules (see below). The new modules feature a common core of second and third year courses that span mathematics and its applicaitons. As per university regulations, if you started a module prior to the change you are entitled to graduate using the old module requirements. Below is a brief overview of module requirements. Entry requirements are not listed here.
