UpMath! (August 2026)

UpMath is a non-credit course offered by the Mathematics Department at Western University. The course is completely free to all students at Western who are taking first-year math courses, especially Calculus 1000A.  UpMath is led by an instructor for those that prefer a more guided approach to preparation for the fall. It is a fantastic opportunity to boost your math skills and ease your transition to university math courses. The focus will be on strengthening key foundational skills that will help you tackle more advanced topics in first year calculus and linear algebra, and general advice on how to prepare for undergraduate math courses at Western.

UpMath will be hosted on MS Teams – students can log in via the web-based app or the standalone MS Teams app for free using their Western credentials (we highly recommend the standalone app, but either will work.)
