Schedule of Math Challenge 2022-23

Math Challenge will be offered on three different levels: Grades 5/6, Grades 7/8, and Grades 9 to 12. The information for each level can be found below.

Even though we state grade levels, these are a guide and should not be considered a restriction. For example, we are happy to have grade 4 students attend the grade 5/6 session or grade 6 students attend the grade 7 to 10 session if they have appropriate desire, experience, and ability.

 Grades 5/6

  • Dates: Third Saturday of each month from October 15th, 2022 through April 22nd, 2023: Oct 15, Nov 19, Dec 17, Jan 21, Feb 18, March 18, and April 22.
    • Note: 
      • No Classes for Christmas break.
      • No Classes for exam week (Jan 27-Feb 2, 2023)
  • Time: 1:15pm to 3:30pm
  • Location: Room 105B Middlesex College
  • Teachers: Tom Griffiths, Allen O’Hara, Dave Mcmillan, and Erica Morrill

Grades 7/8

  • Dates: Third Saturday of each month from October 15th, 2022 through April 22nd, 2023: Oct 15, Nov 19, Dec 17, Jan 21, Feb 18, March 18, and April 22.

      • No Classes for Christmas break.
      • No Classes for exam week (Jan 27-Feb 2, 2023)
  • Time: 9:45 am to 12:00pm (Noon)
  • Location: Room 105B Middlesex College
  • Teachers: Dave Mcmillan and Tom Griffiths

Grades 9 to 12:

  • Dates: Every Tuesday from October 4th, 2022 through April 25th, 2023.
    • Note: 
      • No Classes for Christmas break.
      • No Classes for exam week (Jan 27-Feb 2, 2023)
  • Time: 6:30 pm to 8:30pm
  • Location: Room 105B Middlesex College
  • Teachers: Tom Griffiths and Peter O’Hara
Remarks:
  • If city buses are not running or the university has been closed due to snow, there will be no classes.
  • There are no books required for the program, but we can recommend books appropriate to augment the students’ studies.
  • It is expected that students will work at home on the problems handed out and be prepared to discuss them in class.
  • Please arrive at class ten minutes before the class is due to start so that we can start on time.
  • We reserve the right to request students to leave who behave inappropriately and/or distract others.
